Sorrento / Amalfi / Pompeii
Naples / Capri / Caserta / Ravello
Over the
centuries the Amalfi Coast of Italy has been one of the most
sought after and spectacular vacation retreats in all of Italy.
The raw beauty of this coastline has inspired poets and artists
from every age. The contrast between the bright lush colors
of the citrus groves and the deep blue tranquility of the Mediterranean
Sea is the perfect combination to bring you back again and again.
Itinerary:
Day 1 – Depart the USA for an overnight flight to Naples. Meals
& refreshments served onboard.
Day 2 – Sorrento - Upon arrival in Naples you are met and assisted
with your coach transfer to your hotel in Sorrento. Tonight join
us for
a welcome dinner. (D)
Day 3 – Sorrento - After breakfast at your hotel you will enjoy
a walking tour of the quaint town of Sorrento. Discover the many
wonderful treasures this town has to offer. Later we stop at the
Sorgente Farmer, here we will watch fresh mozzarella being made
followed by a light snack. The afternoon is at leisure. Tonight
join us for a special "Neapolitan" dinner with entertainment.

Day
4 – Sorrento / Amalfi Coast –Today is a day you will remember
for a lifetime. Our coach will take you to a wonderland of small
villages, via the spectacular “Amalfi Drive”, the most famous
road in Italy, affording spectacular views of the coastline and
sea. This is a breathtaking excursion to the jewels of the Amalfi
Coast. We will make a brief stop for photos of Positano which
has always been known as one of the most picturesque resorts in
the Mediterranean. Continue on to Amalfi, where you can stroll
through the cobbled stone streets or sip a cappuccino and watch
passersby. Enjoy a
lunch before proceeding to Ravello for a visit to the Gardens
of Villa Rufolo. As the sun sets we’ll return to Sorrento filled
with warm memories and dreams of a beautiful region.(B,L)
Day 5 – Sorrento / Pompeii / Naples – This morning you depart
for Pompeii, the Roman town that lay buried beneath volcanic lava
for 200 years. During a guided tour you will rediscover an advanced
civilization that has been uncovered by excavations. Discover
temples, houses and villas destroyed by the violent eruption of
Mount Vesuvius in 79AD. After enjoying lunch continue on to Naples
for an orientation tour before returning to Sorrento. (B,L)
Day 6 - Sorrento / Capri –This morning you board your high speed
hydrofoil to the fabled isle of Capri. You will take a scenic
funicular ride to the center of town and enjoy a visit to the
“Gardens of Augustus.” After a lunch of local cuisine, there is
still some time for shopping before catching a return jetfoil
to Sorrento. (B,L,D)
Day
7 - Sorrento / Caserta -This morning travel to Caserta where you'll
visit the Royal Palace, often called the Versailles of the Kingdom
of Naples. Designed in 1752 for the Bourbon King, Charles III,
the Palace has some 1200 rooms.Then it's off to explore the cultural
and agricultural wonders of this region. Visit the “Gio Sole”
farm estate for a tour and lunch. A glimpse of how agriculture
plays an important role in Campania is followed by an unbelieveable
tasting of Campania’s local dishes and wines. (B,L)
Day 8 – Sorrento – A day at leisure to explore the narrow streets
of the old section of Sorrento or shop in the quaint little markets.
Be sure to enjoy a “lemoncello”, a drink made from local lemons,
on the main square at one of the many cafes. Dinner at your hotel
this evening. (B,D)
Day
9- After Breakfast say “Ciao to Italy” and transfer to Naples
airport for your return flight home filled with wonderful memories
to last a lifetime. (B)
