Itinerary:

Day 1 Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy: Civitavecchia was settled in
108 A.D. by Emperor Trajan and has since faithfully served as a gateway to the capital of the Empire, Rome. Once the center of the ancient world from which emperors ruled over nearly all of western civilization for hundreds of years, Rome is still considered by many to reign over all other European destinations. Here you can breathe the air once breathed by great Roman gladiators in the ancient halls of the Colosseum. Gaze upon the very ceilings Michelangelo painted at the Sistine Chapel. Or visit a monument to both size and faith, St. Peter's Basilica, the largest church ever built.

Day 2 Enjoy a lesuirely day at sea

Day 3 Bari, Italy: Corso Vittorio Emanuele divides Bari, a prominent seaport, into two different eras: the alleys and courtyards of Old Town and the thriving, modern city. Walk the Imperatore Augusto Promenade to the Basilica of St. Nicholas and browse the elegant shops of the Via Sparano for a taste of both worlds.

Day 4 Split Croatia: Lined with palm trees, this Adriatic seaside town is also a cultural mecca. Within the walls of the Diocletian Palace, you’ll discover historical buildings, numerous museums, the National Theatre and a collection of old churches. Culture, beauty, natural wonder – Split has it all.

Day 5 | Day 6 Venice, Italy: One of the world's most beautiful cities also happens to be one of its most unusual. Venice is actually made up of over 120 islands in the Adriatic Sea. Because the city is connected by canals instead of streets, a good way to see Venice is on a romantic gondola ride. The epicenter of the city is St. Mark's Square, where you'll find the 900-year-old Basilica of St. Mark.

Day 7 Ravenna, Italy: Both beautiful and historical, Ravenna is not only a destination in and of itself, but also the gateway to Bologna and San Marino. Once the capital of the Roman Empire, it’s hard to miss the influences of Eastern Europe found in its precious marbles and rich mosaics.

Day 9 Taormina, Sicily: With endlessly winding medieval streets and secluded gardens hidden by stone walls, Taormina enchants visitors with its history and beauty. Old Taormina features archeological monuments and medieval homes like Palazzo Santo Stefano, along with magnificent views of the sea and the Greco-Roman amphitheatre, one of Sicily's largest. Dine on sumptuous seafood in the many quaint restaurants and shop for native crafts in the city's numerous shops.

Day 10 | Day 11 Sorrento, Italy: Found on Italy?s famed Amalfi Coast, the city of Sorrento is set atop some of the Mediterranean?s most breathtaking cliffs. Close to Pompeii and a short boat ride to the must-see Isle of Capri, this quaint city will no doubt leave you wanting to return.

Day 12 Porto Cervo (Olbia), Italy: Along the northwestern coast of Sardinia lies the beautiful and prestigious area of Porto Cervo. Explore this Mediterannean port and you?re bound to come across the famed Costa Smeralda Yacht Club ? the home to the Mediterranean?s most popular regatta.

Day 13 | Day 14 Florence, Italy: Occupying both banks of the Arno River and situated at the foot of the Apennine Mountains, is Florence. Founded by Julius Caesar himself, Florence is known as the birthplace of the Renaissance. History and art shake hands in this picturesque land where masterpieces like Michelangelo's David can be seen in the city's many museums, churches and galleries.
Pisa, Italy
Both banks of the River Arno are gracious enough to share this lovely port city. Pisa is perhaps most noted for its famous marble bell tower, known widely as the Leaning Tower of Pisa. It's no surprise the tower is still leaning (14 1/2 feet since 1370), considering that it resides in the Field of Miracles, known locally as Campo de Miracoli.
